Black Ops II Pre-Match Freezing Issues? Try This Simple Fix
Many PS3 gamers have reported issues with Call of Duty: Black Ops II multiplayer, and Treyarch has said they're aware of the reports.
In fact, they have delivered a 56MB update, which presumably addresses some of the bigger technical glitches, such as the ones involving connectivity, matchmaking, and framerate. However, there are other lingering eccentricities, so some players are experimenting with easy fixes.
For example, a Reddit user has discovered what may cause the various pre-match freezing issue:
"I figured out that it's from looking at players emblems. DO NOT HAVE A PLAYER HIGHLIGHTED WHEN THE COUNTDOWN REACHES 0 FOR THE GAME TO START. I stopped doing that and I haven't had a problem since. And I tested it out to make sure that really was the problem, and yep the shit froze."
Of course, we'll probably need another update from the developers before things even out even more. For the record, not everyone is having such issues; I don't recall running into many problems during my play time, and most people I know haven't reported any problems. But so long as there are those who are having bad experiences with the game, it's certainly Treyarch's duty to fix things.

Its typical beam, and I think its is unfair that they get free passes for this as well. It is a decent and fun game but I hate how they get away with this JUST because its CoD.
The patch helped but now I get my sound all messed up when I'm playing sometimes so its kind of crappy. Hopefully they iron it out as I'm actually sort of enjoying this one.

Treyarch released a patch, the problems went away straight away. No need for fancy magic tricks, it just works and works well.
One of my biggest gripes with the original BLOPs was how long it took for all the fixes to be released for the PS3, it was terribly supported at the beginning. So I'm almost ready to forgive Treyarch if they keep supporting the PS3 like they've been doing with the new BLOPs.
Although I still wish we lived in a time when games released without needing patches.

This isn't anything new for this series and yes Treyarch is ussuing patches, but should they even have to? Every year we get a game with connection problems, matchmaking problems, lag issues, framerate drops, and the list typically goes on. And all the way up until the next game releases, those issues still exist, specifically in the matchmaking.
Now again, I believe CoD is being reviewed fairly, but now I'm fully confident others are not, and that CoD is immune to this.
But I am happy to see some patches, because these issues really shouldn't exist. I have no problems matchmaking in any other games.
