Sydney Man Plays Black Ops II For Nearly 136 Hours Straight

Think you know what a gaming marathon is? Yeah, well...check this sh** out.

According to News.com.au, a 28-year-old man in Sydney, Australia played Call of Duty: Black Ops II for 135 hours, 50 minutes straight. If upheld as a legitimate time, it smashes the previous Guinness World Record by over 15 hours.

Okan Kaya had trouble attracting sponsors from retailers due to their unwillingness to support "addictive gaming," but Kaya's employer - 4Cabling - let him use a company meeting room to have a shot at the record. Witnesses were summoned every four hours and video footage of the entire event needed to be recorded; that is all on the way to Guinness for confirmation right now. They will announce whether or not Kaya actually set the world record at some point in the coming weeks. The mark was previously held by two Canadian gamers, who each recorded 120 hours and 7 minutes.

By the way, in case you're wondering, Guinness allows 10-minute breaks every hour, so that isn't too bad. Still, 135 hours is more than a little ridiculous. Just sayin'.

cant they add the 10 minutes up so that they can take like an hour?

Ya i believe I've heard that too.
Still I've never had a video game I wouldn't get bord with after playing it more than a few hours straight.

So that means he can have an hours sleep every 3 hours? That's pretty freakin' good. It kind of makes the whole thing seem not so crazy, the first couple of days he would have felt like crap and needed a lot of coffee, but eventually your body would adapt to the new sleeping patterns. I think it would take a few weeks to do that though hahaha.

I wonder what it was that made him finally quit?

Honestly, the only thing I am amazed about with this, is the fact that it was BLOPS2 he played. I get the shits with the game after an hour or two.

well in the sh*t weather unfortunately theres not much you can do besides sit inside and play games.
f*cking november and its freezing, any colder and id be snowing!
in fact a friend of mine goes up to the mountains every month and hes saying this weeks been the best week for snow for november in HISTORY!
i thought global warming was suppose to make the seasons more extreme, IE summer hotter and winter colder.
not the opposite!

I did 11 hours. But even then, I got out of the house for a little over half an hour for food.

I got a friend on Steam doing the same thing with the game. He's up to 103 hours right now and still going. Good luck to him, as I'll never touch the game.

My personal best was just shy of 38 hours on GTA4, and the only reason I stopped then was that I was starting to see triples of Nico

But I've also gotta say that at 57 at the time, I felt like a undead petrified zombie by the time I shut it down.

I also started another marathon on KZ3's MP mode too, but a little after 26 hours, my 2nd 60 gigger shut down on me for good, with the disc still stuck inside, so that ended that.

Ha, after doing meth I doubt he be able to sit still for even 10 minutes, never mind 136 hours.

He could probably grind his teeth for more than that long though.
