Ubisoft Gauging Interest For Assassin's Creed 4 In 2013?
We've seen a new Assassin's Creed entry in each of the last four years. And Ubisoft is wondering if they should continue that approach.
The "if" part is interesting. Apparently, according to a survey acquired by The Gaming Liberty, Ubisoft is asking fans several questions pertaining to the next installment in the popular and acclaimed franchise.
One of the questions asks how likely gamers would be to purchase the next AC title if it released next year. That means a new iteration for 2013 isn't written in stone, right? Another intriguing point is the question involving co-op, which is bound to generate plenty of discussion from the AC followers (by the way, I say no). Ubisoft also wants to know if we'd like to see Desmond or Connor return in the next game; if the majority want Connor back and they do want a sequel in 2013, that will probably happen. Just a guess.
Assassin's Creed III is the first installment since the original to not feature Ezio Auditore and the Italian Renaissance era. If they stick with the Revolution setting and Connor, Ubisoft can probably pump out another title for next year; if the fans want something entirely new again, they'll likely have to wait. ...and I don't mind waiting, either.
