PS3, Vita, PlayStation Plus Enjoy Great Black Friday Success
Black Friday was good to Sony.
According to recently released official figures, one of the biggest shopping days and weeks of the year has resulted in a nice boost for Sony hardware and PlayStation Plus.
PlayStation 3 Black Friday bundle sales increased 15% and overall PS3 sales (including hardware, software and peripherals) grew 9% year-over-year. The Ultimate PlayStation Value Bundle, featuring a 250GB PS3, the Uncharted Dual Pack and the inFamous Collection for $199, "quickly sold out at retailers across the US." All told, more than a half-million - 525,000, to be precise - PS3 systems were sold in the US during Black Friday.
But don't forget about the PlayStation Vita, which also had a great showing. The Assassin's Creed III: Liberation bundle for $199 was sold out at retail and in fact, Amazon sold through its inventory in less than five hours. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified and LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes bundles (each priced at $199) were also quite popular. In all, over 160,000 Vitas were sold during the Black Friday week.
Said SCEA president and CEO Jack Tretton:
"We're very pleased with the Black Friday sales results, especially the incredible reception for the PS3 and PS Vita bundles. The demand was very strong which quickly depleted our inventory across retailers nationwide. The PlayStation brand generated significant revenue and year-over-year growth at retail because of our focus on what gamers love most in combining amazing hardware with great games and digital entertainment."
Gamers further took advantage of the PlayStation Plus premium PSN subscription, which also includes the excellent Instant Game Collection that currently features 18 games for the PS3 and Vita. Plus subscriptions were up a whopping 259% compared to last year's Black Friday term, and perhaps more importantly, customer satisfaction rates for the service are above 95%. Not too shabby overall, right?

I still have 2 months left, I usually only use it to take advantage of a deal of some sort. For example, Portal 2 was only $20 I believe?
Great stuff :D

Even then though I had to force myself to buy it, since I really didn't want to buy the Super slim, but of course every BF ad was for the Super slim so I had no choice, oh well hopefully it's not as bad as I think...
