Experience "Ultimate Speed" In Most Wanted's First DLC Pack
Need for Speed has always been about one thing...and that one thing is right there in the title.
So it's awfully fitting that the first downloadable content pack for Need for Speed: Most Wanted is called the "Ultimate Speed Pack."
Starting December 18, you will have access to the fastest cars the city of Fairhaven has ever seen; it'll be time to rip through the streets at ridiculous speeds in excess of 240 mph. Criterion plans to continue to support the popular title and this is only the start, but what a start it is:
You will gain access to five of the fastest vehicles ever manufactured: the Pagani Zonda R, McLaren F1LM, Lamborghini Aventador J and Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. You'll have to tackle 25 new events spread across the metropolis and when you're ready, there will be a fresh Most Wanted rival. It's the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder and he's the "undisputed champion of raw speed."
EA has also announced the Need for Speed Autolog App that will let you "keep tabs on your friend stats, awards and game progress, comparing you to your friend's to ensure you stay one step ahead of the competition." The Autolog is definitely one of the more appealing aspects of the game, as you can continually compete against your buddies for top times.

That said, it's a solid game with a solid presentation that I don't regret getting on Black Friday but I'm glad Criterion won't be responsible for ALL future NFS titles. I was hoping they would step out of their box a bit on this and leave the Burnout elements to their Burnout games. It seems they couldn't do it.
Also, I'm one of the few that just hates the constant interruption of slo-mo crash cams everytime I hit something hard. It was cool in Burnout, but not this. Just my opinion.
On a related notes, those are some pretty sick, fast cars.

And actually in addition to the Burnout franchise, Criterion IS now in charge of the entire NFS franchise moving forward (it's been cited on a number of sites since E3). Criterion might not develop all future titles but they will have a hand in them. And actually a little bird told me to look out for a new AAA Burnout title in 2014/2015.

id be so much fun racing through the open world chasing people.
i really wish criterion would sit down and take a look at the original most wanted, and make the cop chases exactly like that!
the speed breakers, the focus on ranking up high damage points, and a strong focus on taking down your pursuers.
this is just far too focused on outrunning the cops which is impossible since they somehow magically know exactly where your going before you do.
outrunning them is easy, but once you do you always end up running into another one no matter what direction you go in!
they need to bring the FUN back in the cop chases!
