Bethesda Striving To Deliver All Skyrim DLC To PS3 Owners
Bethesda recently reported that PlayStation 3 owners would receive the Dragonborn expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in "early 2013."
However, that prompted the obvious question from RPG fans: When will we get the first two pieces of downloadable content? Will we ever see Dawnguard and Hearthfire? Well, not for a while, at least, because Bethesda is currently focusing all their efforts on bringing Dragonborn to Sony's console. As they said at their company blog:
"On PS3 in particular, we turned our attention to Dragonborn, as we thought it was the best content to release first, and we didn’t want folks to wait longer. Once it’s ready to go for everyone, we’ll continue our previous work on Hearthfire and Dawnguard for PS3. Each one takes a lot of time and attention to work well in all circumstances and all combinations of DLC. Once we have a better idea of release timing and pricing, we’ll let you know."
As the Dragonborn expansion is already out for the Xbox 360, we're pretty sure we know the price when it arrives for PS3: $19.99. Will you be willing to jump on the Dawnguard and Hearthfire expansions whenever they arrive...? Game's gettin' kinda old.

What I'd like is a patch that fixes the game before any of this comes out.

It is only Heartfire and Dawnguard that released late.
@Ben, your final comment "Games gettin' kinda old". Makes me kind of confused, because honestly, this is EXACTLY what DLC was created for, to continue to give people new content well after the release date. So not buying DLC for a game because it is 'too old' makes absolutely no sense. This is EXACTLY the reason why I WILL buy all the DLC for Skyrim, because I LOVED that game, and I have been waiting anxiously for an excuse to dive back into that world on a new adventure.
All those people that are refusing to buy this because they don't agree with what happened, get over it, the only thing you're doing is missing out on another awesome Skyrim adventure, because I'm sure Beth won't miss you, and come TESVI, you'll be back into it.

I'm w/ you Dill, the game has been out for TOO long and most everybody I know (me included) have moved onto other games, and I haven't even finished Skyrim... "Plenty of fish in the sea" works for more than just women...

For example, collision detection not working properly could easily allow a Quest NPC to fall through the ground, never to appear again, breaking the main quest. It is a simple bug that affects many many games.
Honestly, it is your own fault for not having a previous save. I was lucky to only come across 1 bug in my time with Skyrim, which was, during the siege of whiterun, several fireballs from catapults were frozen when they contacted a building or object in the town, they just froze there and NEVER dissapeared. I fixed this by replaying the quest about 5 or so times until I could get to that point without the bug happening.

Nice assumption on your part. I had about 20 saves thank you very much, and this was done because of my horrible experience with Fallout 3.
Plus, before you make the suggestion of me just going back, no thanks. I was over 100 hours into that game, and I do not play games like this again. I intentionally left the Civil War questline till the end so I would some form of narrative to follow after I beat the game. When I completed the main storyline, it was stuck on meet "them" at this location. Needless to say it didn't work. Period.
So, if you, in your Bethesda-defensive stance can't understand that I, as a consumer was left frustrated over that, then that is your problem.
Truth be told, Bethesda should be pleased that I plan on purchasing this game again since they already have received $60.00 from me.

I honestly don't know what it is with them, but I can't see how anyone keeps giving them money for shoddy PS3 iterations of their games that work great on PC and probably work just fine on 360 (don't know personally). The minute they said to not worry about the PS3 port and that it would be just the same as the other versions of the game I knew that I wouldn't be getting on the PS3, they never ever deliver on it.

Not really. There is so much to do in this game, it's insane. Anyone who has put over 100 hours into it an not scratched the surface can attest to that.
Everytime you turn the game on ita a fresh start because its so expansive. The dlc would also bring some freshness.
That aside, a goty edition or something is probably what I will wait for.

Then all of a sudden, the ps3 had a game breaking bug. So when i updated i decided to make a high elf mage. It suddenly had tons of problems. It froze on me, textures looked weird in certain areas, and certain quests broke on me. Their 'patch' seemed to make the ps3 version the crappiest one. It was strange because in the first time of bethsedas games that the ps3 version was good. Maybe my hatred for skyrim comes from the fact my game game was working and running perfectly then people said their was a game breaking bug.
I like to reiterate on stuff i don't like to try and like it but everytime i do with skyrim i just get mad that they screwed my character that i thought was epic. He was a heavy armor, 2 hand, and had sneak. I would literally sneaka round in heavy armor and weapons and still get around unnoticed. Fallout 3 and new vegas (love new vegas by the way) have not crashed or froze on me once either. Im sure people have had other experiences but these are my own and i had ZERO issues with skyrim till they 'patched' it. Just had to say it, i think bethseda broke the ps3 version on purpose. Oblivion ran fine so why would skyrim be any different.

We are all so quick to judge all the immature gamers who have huge expectations of games, like those who went crazy over ME3.
They had reasons why the DLC's didn't work on PS3 at first, poor management, development team are stupid xbots, whatever, but NOW we ARE getting the DLC, you CANNOT say that Beth don't care about PS3, they have continued to support it since the release and have worked hard to get the DLC to us. So people should stop having a tantrum like a little 5 year old. Oh, you didn't get the DLC exactly when YOU wanted? Oh big effing deal. Cry babies.
I have seen barely ANY posts from people saying "Oh I am glad they finally fixed their issues, and are releasing the content, I was really looking forward to playing it!"
