Got A Bunch Of Games To Trade In? The Time Is Right Now

Seriously, don't wait. 'Cuz if you do, after December 16, these great trade-in values go bye-bye. Likely for good.

GameStop is well known for giving people less than they think they're going to get for trade-ins. But for some reason (maybe it's the holiday season), the retailer has decided to offer a lot more than they usually do for select titles.

You can check out the list of games that are worth more than normal over at the CheapAssGamer forums. You have to be a PowerUp Rewards member to take advantage of the temporary boost, but you probably are one, right? And if you're a Pro member, you can add 10% to the values you see on that list. Notable games include:

  • Alice: Madness Returns – $20
  • Assassin’s Creed – $15
  • Assassin’s Creed Ezio Trilogy – $25
  • Assassin’s Creed III – $35
  • Assassin’s Creed III Liberation – $20
  • Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year – $25
  • Borderlands 2 – $30
  • Call of Duty Black Ops 2 – $40
  • Call of Duty Black Ops Declassified – $30
  • Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse – $30
  • God of War Saga – $20
  • Grand Theft Auto IV Complete Edition – $20
  • Little Big Planet – $15
  • Little Big Planet Karting – $30
  • Madden NFL 2013 (PS3) – $35
  • Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012, PSV) – $20
  • PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (PSV) – $15
  • PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (PS3) – $30
  • Portal 2 – $20
  • Resident Evil 6 – $25
  • Saints Row The Third: The Full Package – $25
  • UFC Undisputed 3 – $20

Time to actually save some money...Black Ops II is worth $40. Did you see that? And Declassified is $30...

IMO, GS still sucks with trade-ins, even with those prices.

BTW, Since I'm a collector, I never trade in any games (unless I got a few that were doubles inside a batch lot I've bought), but still, I'd rather sell them to a local Mom & pop video games store so they can stay in biz against the corporate fiends.

Better still, list them on Classified Ads online (I use Kijiji) then sell them yourself. You set the price and terms, and usually get a better value (and cash!) than GS.

I don't see a single game on that list I would be willing to trade in for those amounts of money.

Hehe almost looks like the standard credit they used to give some 10 years ago. Games were $50 then too.

They'll re-sell all of them for more.

Just left there and traded Borderlands 2 for Dishonored pretty much straight across.

Black Ops Declassifies is such a bad game. Im glad I can get $30 for it so I can buy a game worth buying.

It is really not fun at all? I still kinda want it. It definetly wasn't the "console quality on the go" sony hyped towards but the multiplayer looked kinda fun.

Don't do it. The AI is dead accurate, the controls aren't all that great and you can't get in an online game at all. It's just frustrating. If you choose to buy it, just be ready for the worst.

40 bucks for BO2!?
christ, not only does the US pay HALF what we pay, but they get better trade in values too!
a friend of mine traded in the hardened edition and only got 30 credit for it!
how a game depreciates 90 bucks in the space of 10 days is beyond me!
then you go back the following week and see there selling it for 80.
sigh.
