G4 To Become Esquire Channel And Target The "Modern Male"
Bye-bye, G4. Happy trails. Hello, Esquire Channel.
After canceling "Attack of the Show" and "X-Play," it has been announced that NBCUniversal and Hearst Corp. have closed a deal to rebrand G4 as Esquire Channel.
This new endeavor will seek to cater to "metrosexual viewers that History and Spike ignore," and will be geared toward various lifestyle/fashion topics as well as the gaming world. In short, they appear to be going after the "modern Male," so they can "capture a growing, upscale demographic that isn't being reached through other male networks." So on this channel, you'll be able to find everything from cooking and travel to the latest and greatest games, as well as other hot subjects of utmost interest to the sophisticated male between the ages of 21 and 35 (just guessing at the age demographic).
It remains to be seen just how much gaming will be included, but we imagine it may have to take a back seat to other mainstream topics occasionally. After all, Esquire handles a great deal of content that has nothing to do with video games.

its pissing me off so much, its destroying EVERYTHING!
its funny a friend of mines looking for a new car so we went car shopping over the weekend, and it struck upon me that EVERY single god dam hatchback looks the same!
im so sick of this everything has to be the same, uniqueness is illegal.
next will see rolls royce start making hatchbacks because by making only the worlds best luxury car is ignoring 99% of the marketplace.
when will these companies learn their customer base goes to them for what they offer, NOT what they SHOULD offer!
i dont go looking to ford for the worlds fastest car, nor do i rolls for the worlds cheapest.
why have companies suddenly decided the millions we make are suddenly not enough?
and why dont they understand throwing out what your famous for is not going to help?

They had a amazing documentary series video video game called Icons. Seriously go watch them on Youtube.
Cinematech was always fun to watch. Use to be a show that played random gameplay videos and older game commercials. The perfect late night show to have on in the background while surfing the net.
Not to mention when they still aired The Screen Savers...
Man... That channel use to be awesome...
