PlayStation Blog Awards: Sony's Very Best Games Of 2012

It's that time of the year, and while we don't normally report on awards from other sources, the PlayStation Blog is an exception...kinda feels like a brother in some ways.

The community has voted and the results are in. Check 'em out; did your favorite games take home the top prizes?

Fittingly, prizes were handed out the way Trophies are awarded: Platinum for the highest honor, then Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Game of the Year was very close but in the end, Ubisoft's epic Assassin's Creed III took home the highest honor, with Borderlands 2 coming in a close second and Far Cry 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops II following. The PSN Game of the Year went to Journey, with The Walking Dead winning the runner-up prize, while the best game of the year for PlayStation Vita went to Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

As for future titles, the Most Anticipated Game is The Last Of Us, followed by Grand Theft Auto V, God of War: Ascension and Bioshock Infinite. Yeah, GTAV would probably win at any site that wasn't centered on PlayStation but still, that's a significant achievement. As for the PSXE end-of-year awards, you can expect those to arrive right around the New Year...

I'd say that's pretty accurate.

Uncharted: GA is a good choice but my personal favorite game on ANY platform this year is Gravity Rush...

Man it seems like we just did GOTY at PSXE. Might as well cast my lot in with Dishonored one last time.

Not bad, but I would have gone with Dishonored as GOTY.

I haven't played enough of this year's highest profile games so I can't offer a vote. I will say I did spend a good solid amount of time with AC3. It's a real strong offering I think.
Interestingly, I happen to agree with most of it's praises and criticisms from the critics out there. It's an amazingly huge epic offering, but at the same time it fumbles on several details. Arguably, the fighting mechanic got WORSE this time around-too sloppy and chaotic to be enjoyable by my liking. Every time a large scale brawl broke out it was like roll the eyes and say "here we go again." But other than that it's good times.

Still, for all of it's epic'ness, I'd take SOnic All-Stars Racing Transformed, VF5:R, DOA5, (even NG3 =p ) over AC3 any day ;)

Guess I'd agree with most of the awards but as much as I like Uncharted: Golden Abyss (one of my favorite games of the year), it definitely isn't as good as Gravity Rush or Little Big Planet Vita.

only award they got right was uncharted golden abyss, that was one hell of a shock!
well i guess i shouldent have been shocked, after all it was made by the gods of $ony bend!
its such a crime how $ony has been treating them!
there such a brilliant talented studio, and they have been restricted to portable games!
well enough, if bend are not working on a ps4 launch title now there is something seriously wrong with $ony!
dont make the same mistake you did with your SOHO london studio.........

How did Beyond: Two Souls not win one of the four Most Anticipated PS3 Game awards?

I agree with most of the pick which I also picked too.

But I'd have to say it's "Remember Me" for most anticipated game(at least for myself).
