GAME Day After Christmas Sale Includes 12GB PS3, ACIII

So let's say some of our gaming friends across the pond didn't get what they wanted for Christmas: A new PlayStation 3.

Well, that's where UK retailer GAME comes in: According to what a GAME rep told Joystiq, the price of the 12GB PS3 will fall to £125 the day after Christmas. This is down from the original price tag of £150, and also features a copy of "The Amazing Spider-Man."

Other sales include Assassin's Creed III and FIFA 13 for only £35 apiece, so we figure consumers situated in the UK region should take advantage. Of course, this brings up the inevitable question: Can North American gamers expect some sort of hardware price drop after Christmas is over? The new PS3 Slim machines are here and they're pretty reasonably priced already (in our estimation, at least), but you never know... Maybe Sony should drop the cost of the Vita first, though.

Seriously, what good is a 12gb PS3 gonna do for anyone that owns more than one game? It's absurd really. I have a TB external and a 500gb western digital inside my PS3. They're both close to full (granted that some data is on both as backups). This is the reason why I haven't bought a tablet yet. Simply not enough space.

Buy a 12gb ps3, buy a 1TB HDD

Might end up being less than buying a 500gb

12GB is going to get used up quick, external HDD is necessary for this machine and thus cheaper depending on the HDD size.

I don't think they need to lower the price of the Vita, it's the ridiculously overpriced Memory Cards that keep me from buying one in the near future...
At 4GB per game and 80$ per 32GB MC, every digital game is essentially 10$ more expensive than it seems...

Amazon is having a Gold Box game sale Christmas Day, no idea if hardware is in it but we should all pay attention cuz prices are comin down!

In these days and age, how the heck will 12GB suffice?
Unlike the 360, the PS3 has more games that requires mandatory install.
Well it is cheap indeed but 12GB is just a joke.

Then again, we also have external hard disk so it's a small issue.

Can't you still install an internal hard drive to the 12 GB PS3? I thought the bay was still there but that it was just empty. Is that correct?

if $ony was dropping the price they would drop the price on the whole line.
i cant see them dropping the price now, if they were going to they would of done so just before chrissy.
probably wont see a drop now until E3, if the ps4 is announced there.
otherwise probably not till this time next year.

best thing about chrissy all the sales, ended up grabbing skyrim, the fear series, ledgends of grimrock, and quantum conundrum season pass for under 100 bucks!
steam may be a rip off, but when they have a sale they have a SALE!
they got allot of newly released games like hitman, borderlands 2, ect, ect, for 50%+ off now!
starting to wish i waited.......

I got a 60gig day 1 an have 41gb free.. I dl stuff an when done the game delete it.. Wanna play again 1 day download again not that big of a deal really

I got a 60gig a little over year in to launch, and I don't download a whole lot b/c I don't download demos, music, or movies, but even then, I had to upgrade my hdd b/c it's a pain to have to delete game installs (for regular disc based games) and game saves every time i want to play a new game....however, it did take a few years to get to that point.
