Is Square Enix Really Making A Mystery Thriller Of Some Sort?
Every time we ponder a currently unannounced Square Enix release, we end up being disappointed. It's usually some silly mobile game or something.
But their titles are so very compelling, so sometimes we can't help but wonder... For example, Siliconera has spotted a recent trademark filed by the publisher; it's for a game called "Soul Suspect" or perhaps "Murdered: Soul Suspect."
That sounds a lot like a mystery thriller of some sort, maybe even along the same lines as L.A. Noire. Maybe we'd get to play a detective of some sort, who is tasked with not only solving a murder, but must also locate a lost soul. The possibilities are limitless and Square Enix could get awfully creative with this one, provided this isn't just another action game for the 3DS or something like that. Murder mysteries are common in the world of books but the concept hasn't gotten as much traction in the world of interactive entertainment, so color us intrigued. Well, for now.

So, now at least I know where they've been wasting the majority of their non-Lightening time....
