EA Shutting Down Online Servers For Several Older Sports Titles
Hope you're all done playing these games online, 'cuz they're disappearing for good after the New Year.
Electronic Arts has announced that a number of older titles will be taken offline during the first couple of weeks of January.
FIFA Manager 11 for PC goes down on the 3rd, while FIFA Soccer 11, FIFA Soccer 11 Ultimate Team, Madden NFL 11, Madden NFL 11 Ultimate Team, NBA Jam, NBA Live 10, NCAA 11, NHL 11, and NHL 11 Ultimate Team will lose their online servers on January 11. Beyond the sports realm, The Sims 2 will no longer receive online support on the 14th and Trenches 2 online for iOS will disappear on the 19th. We're willing to bet you haven't played any of these games online for quite some time, so this probably won't come as any huge blow. No biggie, right?
But it does remind me that I might want to play NBA Jam again. The game was so awesomely old-school...the shiznit, I believe is the correct term.
