Has Ubisoft Resurrected A Game That Was Announced Back In 2005?
Seven and a half years ago at E3 2005, Ubisoft officially announced a flashy-looking FPS with lots of promise. It was called Killing Day.
At that time, we received a brief trailer for the anticipated title, which you can see below if you've forgotten (it was a while ago, after all). And then the game basically disappeared and most people forgot about it.
However, Ubisoft doesn't appear ready to abandon the project, as they filed a trademark for the title in May 2009 and now, as reported by PlayStation LifeStyle, a new patent was filed just recently on January 4. It's an interesting story because the current generation wasn't even upon us during E3 2005 (the Xbox 360 launched later that year and the PlayStation 3 didn't arrive until November 2006), and now we're on the cusp of yet another generation.
Might Killing Day be a project for the PS4 and Xbox 720 at this point...?

We'll probably see it before we see FFVersus, announced just a year after this.
