Deep Silver "Sincerely Regrets" That Bloody Headless Torso
Okay, so maybe it wasn't the best idea.
Yesterday, publisher Deep Silver announced the Dead Island: Riptide Zombie Bait Edition, which would release exclusively in the UK on April 26, 2013 and was dubbed as an "ultra collectible" version of the upcoming sequel. It holds a retail price of £99.99 ($160); the Rigor Mortis Edition for North America was revealed last week.
But that edition didn't include a decapitated bikini-clad female torso covered in blood. That's right, the UK bundle will feature this collectible item and perhaps unsurprisingly, they've taken a lot of flak for it. Now, an official reply has popped up on Twitter:
"We sincerely regret this choice. We are collecting feedback continuously from the Dead Island community, as well as the international gaming community at large, for ongoing internal meetings with Deep Silver's entire international team today. For now, we want to reiterate to the community, fans and industry how deeply sorry we are, and that we are committed to making sure this will never happen again."
Well, we'll have to see if that's enough to defuse the situation. The company hasn't said they're ditching the bloody female torso just yet, but that may end up happening. So do you think people should be offended by such a "collectible," or do you believe they're overreacting?

I'm really offended by it, but I don't know why they thought someone would want an anatomically correct headless bikini babe zombie sitting on their dresser.
I dont really know why people are mad about it though. But I'm kind of a person who thinks everyone is overly sensitive so that could be why :

I wouldn't say I'm sorry, I'd say if you can't appreciate a good bloody torso then you got your own problems. I got a basement full of torsos myself.

Lets all stop and think for a minute here; Who are the people that will actually see this thing? The people who are in the market for this game... Okay, and what kind of people are in the market for this game? ZOMBIE FANS!!! And guess what kind of things zombie fans like... THIS!!!
No way should they have to apologize for anything. If people want it, they'll buy it. If it offends you, or you don't like it then just ignore it and be on your merry way.

seriously, why are people so god dam sensitive these days!?
its a bit silly to have this as a collectors item, yea, but thats the whole point of the game to be a bit cartoony and tongue in cheek!

And no, I'm *NOT* agreeing with them. Just stating what I'm sure will happen given how much video game violence and the like has been brought up due to the Sandy Hook tragedy.
Personally, I'm not offended at all by it. As others have said, it's a zombie game and zombies like to snack on the living. I find it rather humorous.

Seriously if you don't like it or it offends you DONT BUY IT. Just because someone thinks something like this shouldn't exist doesn't mean they have a right to ban it so no one can have it. Like others have said it would be a wicked sick halloween decoration, or just one of those things you own that people go WTF dude.
But I honestly never understood why people were so adamant about banning stuff when they could simply just not purchase.
No one is forcing you to buy it, so let the people who want this get it and if it is offensive to you ignore it.
