Splinter Cell: Blacklist Dated, Sam Fisher Returns This Summer

Okay, so you won't get any stealth from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and we're not sure when Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will arrive.

But you should be able to count on Splinter Cell: Blacklist for your much-needed stealth fix (provided it's a darn sight better than whatever that mess Conviction was).

Now, a solidified release date has been announced: The new Splinter Cell adventure will be ready to go on August 20 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. That's a little later than initially anticipated, as the estimated launch window was Spring 2013. But hey, there doesn't appear to be too much slated for the summer - which is usually pretty dead - so maybe the timing is just right. Also, don't forget to check out the new Inaugurati video through the link above.

I've always been a fan of this franchise, right up until the last entry. Here's hoping Blacklist is a glorious return to form.

It'll be awhile before those ground zeroes come out so maybe folks can enjoy this in the mean time.

I actually kinda enjoyed conviction, it played alot like uncharted and I liked that. So as a game it was great, but as a splintercell game it was a disappointment. I get that, though for someone who never played any of the older titles (me) I found it to be a very entertaining game

I still don't know why people hate on conviction, I thought it was a very entertaining and well done game. I get that it wasn't classic splinter cell but conviction has a metacritic score of 85 and was definitely not a 'mess'.

conviction had PLENTY stealth, if you bothered to look for it!
last known position was SO helpful to that, and especially the gadgets the sticky camera and playing music to lure guards to traps.
really pisses me off when people say conviction was not a stealth game!
its allot more a stealth game than allot of these wannabees!
cough dishonored......

:(
should of known it was too good to be true!
