Ascension Owners Get A Head Start On The Last Of Us

As if you needed more incentive to buy God of War: Ascension.

The latest iteration in the award-winning franchise is due March 12, exclusively on the PlayStation 3. And if you pick it up, you'll gain access to a sneak peek at another hotly anticipated PS3 exclusive: The Last Of Us.

As announced over at the PlayStation Blog, Ascension will tell give you a head start on sampling a piece of Naughty Dog's new IP, which is slated to launch on May 7. It seems the new God of War won't actually come with the demo itself, but will give you "details on how you can obtain The Last Of Us demo for free as soon as it becomes available." So basically, owners of Ascension will have a head-start on the demo.

Demos usually launch within a month of the game releasing, so you might not see the demo for The Last Of Us until mid-to-late April or somewhere around there. Still, it might be a darn good idea to be a God of War: Ascension owner... You really can't go wrong.

Just wait a few man, it'd be cheaper anyway... who cares about a demo anyway, that won't make you any more or less sure of a purchase of the game in question.

A demo can definitely sway someones opinion about a purchase. If done correctly, a demo can make you excited for a game and the flip side, if a demo is crap, there is a good possibility that consumers will be turned off about the game.

I don't disagree with your statement about waiting awhile but your comment about the demo's not making you sure about a purchase is way off.

Idk, I was thinking about preordering it. I've been on the edge.

It looks pretty awesome and I defiantly want to play it.

@Killa,
I am so glad you are in everyones head and know we are 'all' going to buy the game. Companies should hire you to predict the future.

Personally, I can't wait for the game. I have all the confidence in the world that Naughty Dog will make a masterpiece. Not everyone shares my point of view. I have friends that just couldn't get in to Uncharted because they don't like playing 3rd person games.

In short, for you to say everyone will buy it regardless of the demo, is a bit shortsighted.

There is not really any incentive there. Sure, you get the demo earlier than the rest but they have it written out like you get the demo free. Last time I checked, everyone gets the demo free.

Pick up ascension when it drops in price and get the demo free when it releases to the general public. Now that is incentive *sarcasm*!

That's the strangest thing I've ever heard. Plus scribers will probably get early access anyway.

im not a fan of button mashing, but my god Sony Santa monica are full of great people. They tweeted today and said "To all THQ employees, We are Hiring" I mean how awesome is that? And no, nothing is going to make me want to spoil anything for The Last Of Us. I still haven't even watched the trailer that shows the release date. I want all this curiosity to be fullfilled when it comes out :P
