Forget The PS4, I Just Want To Play The Last Guardian...Soon
While everyone keeps talking about the next generation of consoles, I keep thinking about the games I still want to play from this generation.
Of course, there's a possibility that the long-anticipated title from Team ICO, The Last Guardian, will end up on the PS4. However, let's just assume the game is still intended for the PS3 and if that's the case, I want to get some new information on it. I want to play it. Soon.
If there's one game that would remind us that originality and innovation can still exist in large-scale productions, I think it'd be Guardian. I don't like it when people say there's no originality currently available, because we see a whole lot of unique and highly creative titles in the indie gaming realm. Just because they're not big-budget productions doesn't make them any less unique. However, it's also true that many of the biggest names in gaming have gotten pretty predictable as of late, and we're sort of relying on a few developers (like Quantic Dream) to give us fresh, innovative experiences.
And those who remember ICO and Shadow of the Colossus with the proper reverence fully understand just how important The Last Guardian could be. That's why I so want to play it, and I dearly hope that it hasn't been canned. They keep saying it's still in development but at this point, it's getting harder and harder to believe...

8+ freaking years of work, and you STILL havent implemented controls!?
i find it VERY hard to believe its still in production!
not to mention udea left, half of the studios big wigs followed him, so whos left to follow his vision and bring it to completion?
and if it ever releases, and thats the universes biggest IF, we would need a god given miracle on the level of 100000 zeus sacrifices, for it to live up to a 10th of the expectations people have for it!
exactly why its better off being a ps4 title, that would give them a excuse to spend a bit more time working on it, and the extra technical prowess to work with.
as much as im intrigued to see how this turns out, after 8+ years in development!
id much rather see a sequel to ico, now THAT was a masterpiece and something worthy of a 8+ year development cycle!

Everything before 2009 was done with pencils and paper ie. concept art.
Team ico was 6 people in an office, their a team not a studio hence the name TEAM ICO.
Japan STUDIO handles production under direction from udea.
These guys are creating everything from scratch, not to mention art takes time.

in 2005 a BBC journalist was shown a tech demo which was claimed to be actual gameplay of then a unannounced game.
that once TLG was announced, he came out and said this was the game he was shown.
05 - 13, and we STILL dont know anything about it!
this is the true DNF, at least with that we had a few teaser trailers, plus frequent updates from the developers!
not to mention it switched engines quite a few times.

I get what you mean with your article but I just thought I'd share my opinion based on the article title alone.
