DmC Can't Hold Top Sales Spot In UK, Black Ops II Returns
The Devil May Cry reboot from Ninja Theory and Capcom spent a couple of weeks atop the UK sales charts, which was seen as a good sign.
But initial sales couldn't outstrip the numbers tallied by Devil May Cry 4 in 2008 and now, DmC has slipped to fourth, while Call of Duty: Black Ops II has attained the top spot for the first time in 2013.
FIFA 13 was the #1 seller in the UK during the first few weeks of the year and DmC: Devil May Cry knocked the soccer sim from its perch after DmC launched mid-month. And I guess everyone in the UK is climbing back onto the Black Ops II bandwagon, which isn't necessarily surprising considering the history of the franchise. 2011's Modern Warfare 3 was a top 10 seller for most all of 2012.
Here's the UK top 10 for the week ending January 26, 2013:
- 1. Call of Duty: Black Ops II
- 2. FIFA 13
- 3. Far Cry 3
- 4. DmC: Devil May Cry
- 5. Assassin's Creed III
- 6. Need for Speed: Most Wanted
- 7. Just Dance 4
- 8. Football Manager 2013
- 9. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- 10. Hitman: Absolution
