Splinter Cell: Blacklist Collector's Edition Features Remote Aircraft

Sam Fisher will soon return. And if you're totally psyched for the elite operative's latest adventure, you might want to spring for the freshly announced Collector's Edition.

It's officially called the Paladin Mult-Mission Aircraft Edition, and it'll launch on August 20 in North America and Latin America for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

There are all sorts of extras and goodies jammed into this fantastic package, which will retail for $169.99. Obviously, the highlight is the remote-controlled C-147B Paladin Aircraft, but that's not the only reason to snag this collector's set.

Check out everything included:

-- Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist video game.

-- Remote Control C-147B Paladin Aircraft: Command the air with a custom 3-channel, dual-engine aircraft modeled after the in-game Paladin mobile headquarters.

-- Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell® Echoes comic book: Limited 88-page graphic novel by Eisner-nominated comic book writer Nathan Edmondson and illustrator Marc Laming.

-- Limited edition Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist poster.

-- Exclusive Billionaire’s Yacht co-op map.

-- Bonus Upper Echelon Pack with Dead Coast co-op map, Gold Sonar Goggles and Upper Echelon Suit.

Here's hoping Blacklist is a return to form for the critically acclaimed franchise. Many long-time fans of the series believe the most recent installment, Conviction, was a definite step backwards. That's the wrong direction, Ubisoft...get it right this time.

Nobody in their right mind would actually fly that thing.

pretty disappointing!
DLC, DLC, DLC, poster, comic book, 2 dollar plane replica.
is this really what defines a "collectible item"?
what happened to the good old days where games actually had really cool rare loot?
how about a art book signed by all the developers, a statue of sam in his new gear, a making of documentary detailing all the bits and pieces of the games production.
one thing i really loved about the MK art book, reading through it they actually had their 3D animator explain how the models were made, was really interesting reading through that.

Oh, I don't know. I saw this on IGN a few days back and I was intrigued. I love Splinter Cell, so maybe I'm a mark for this, but I'm gonna watch this as more comes out. I might be getting this.
