CT Proposes 10% Excise Tax For All Games Rated "M"
Man, my state is really pissing me off lately.
After the Newtown school shooting, politicians everywhere have pointed their rigid, ignorant fingers at video games. Some want the ESRB ratings to become legally binding, others have made outlandish statements like "games are a bigger problem than guns," and still others want to tax violent games.
Recently, Connecticut senator Chris Murphy proposed that if the gunman hadn't played a video game that empowered him, the tragedy might never have happened. ...brilliant guy, right there. But wait, Connecticut isn't done embarrassing itself; now it's the turn of Debralee Hovey (R-112th District), who has proposed a 10% excise tax on all games sold in the state that are rated M for Mature. This would make a game go from $60 to $70, by the way. Funds from this endeavor would be handed to the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, so educational materials can be created for families.
That education, by the way, would highlight the "warning signs" of video game addiction and antisocial behavior.
I have no further comment.

Personally, I think it's a brain-dead stupid idea that only appeals to politicians trying to grandstand their way into a better career at the cost of the lives lost in tragic shootings and scapegoating the very convenient, and difficult to defend video game industry. Politicians turn my stomach sometimes...

Also, shove a 1000% tax right up the a$$es of any & all of those posers keep trying trying to void or change any part of our Constitution or any of it's Amendments, in order to try defeating us with their New World Order socialism Bull$hit!
Or also to try to null & void our Bill Of Rights, & any of our Freedoms that our Forefathers granted us with their infinite wisdom.

If the elite is able to remove the weapons from Swiss and American citizens, a one world government would be formed immediately afterward. We can't stop the one world government from forming with the weapons available to us, but at least we can fight back and refuse to live under it.
People fail to realize that the second amendment has nothing to do with hunting or sport. It is 100% about protecting ourselves from tyranny that comes from a corrupted government.
The people who are willing to fight seem to be aware of what's taking place.

Tes, your first clue is who is agreeing with you. Next will be blank line. I respect you at least for many of your insights on other topics. Psn French here believes polio vaccinations have worsened polio despite the fact the vaccinations have made it nearly extinct. You should always be concerned when habitual conspiracy theorists agree with you. Especially people who think everything is a conspiracy.
I'm just trying to help, now. If my factual foundations on this topic label me an idiot in some circles, then I wear that label proudly, French. At least idiots have some resemblance of a brain at all. In that sense, I'm still ahead. :)

Video games do not cause one to have bipolar disorder!
I also do not care for large ammo clips. I hunt and enjoy guns myself but find these thirty to fifty round clips sports shops sell completely unnecessary and a problem. There not needed for hunting and fire to many rounds for your gun to handle without getting to hot and jamming. Do we really need them?
This guy was an adult and I'm tired of hearing politicians talk like he was a child that video games corrupted. His mom was an irresponsible gun owner because he obviously had some form of mental illness and his mother should not have had guns in the house. Mental illness and guns is all that is needed for a formula for disaster.
I'm sorry, but playing freaking Dynasty Warriors is not going to make someone go on a murdering spree! It might make some commit suicide from boredom, but that's about it. By the way, I personally love Dynasty Warriors!

No wonder the US congress has such a low approval rating when they waste time on this nonsense.
