Activision Confirms A New Call Of Duty For Later This Year
Right, like you're surprised.
During a post-earnings conference call, Activision confirmed that a new Call of Duty title will launch this year. But there's an interesting catch- Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg says the company does not expect this new installment to perform as well as 2012's record-breaking Black Ops II.
However, in terms of quality, he says the new iteration will "raise the bar even higher," and CFO Dennis Durkin added that predicting the future is more difficult because of the "ongoing console transition." The currently unnamed CoD game will release during the company's fourth quarter, which of course runs between October and December. Historically, all new Call of Duty entries launch in November, so you can probably expect that to happen again this year.
Hot money's on Modern Warfare 4, but that isn't official. Anybody else think this franchise could've taken a year off...?

What they fail to realise is what made COD4 have such a big impact.
It was pretty groundbreaking when it came out. But making essentially a similar game, with slightly fresher coating, wears thin
I remember having MW4 on my radar when i first saw the trailers and playthroughs.
It's funny because i distinctly remember saying to myself "i hope this game gets recognised when it's released."

Take a year off? why?
Everybody who buys it loves the annual release - why deprive the fans of what they want?
If its to give the other devs a chance - no - its up to them to make a game thats more fun to coax cod fans away.
If more time to develop would result in an even more fun game - then bobby should through another team at it full time (raven or sledgehammer) and let infinity ward and treyarch have a 3 year development cycle.
Booked the 2nd week of november off again so they better stick to our usual schedule.

I have had it freeze on occasion during map loads in multiplayer, but I had no issues in the campaign. Well, aside from a really bad checkpoint save. (start over with a grenade between my feet...)
But there are people that report issues without support.
