TLOU: "By Far The Longest Campaign" Of Any Naughty Dog Game
This past week, we learned that one of the most anticipated titles of 2013 had been delayed.
But although we're mildly disappointed that we have to wait five extra weeks for Naughty Dog's The Last Of Us, we understand that the developers want to produce the best possible adventure.
Even more encouraging is the fact that it's supposedly longer than any game Naughty Dog has produced in the past, which of course includes the acclaimed Uncharted franchise. Creative director Neil Druckmann appeared to confirm this fact:
"In many ways [The Last of Us] Naughty Dog is the most ambitious project is. It is a brand new universe with new characters, groundbreaking technology, a new genre, and by far the longest campaign that Naughty Dog has ever made."
Well, that's certainly good to hear. Personally, I never had any problem with the 10-12-hour Uncharted adventures; they could be completed in less time, of course, but I always wanted to savor those masterpieces. So if I can savor an even longer campaign by being patient - The Last Of Us is now set for June 14 - then I gots no problem with the delay.

This just gives me more time to pay all of these games off that are coming out the first 6 months of this year.
Then after I get GTA V in September, I can focus entirely on waiting for the next-gen systems to come out.

not really surprising though, NDs games have always been pretty disappointingly short.
and abrupt, one of my biggest complaints about the series.
hey were FINALLY here, we have traveled half way accross the world, spent oh so much money, almost gotten killed a billion times but its totally worth it because weve made it!
roll credits.
WTF!?
you have spent all that time traveling somewhere, dont we deserve a little time enjoying and exploring it?
its like driving half way across the world, just to get to your destination and drive back.
no staying at a hotel and exploring the destination you have spent so much time driving to, just drive back!

As far as abrupt endings, they're far better than most games I've played. You get there, you beat the bad guy, you escape, and you have a denouement. Saying Uncharted's endings are abrupt is completely ignoring truly abrupt endings, like Killzone 3, Battlefield 3, or hell, any shooter of the past several years really.
