Battlefield 4 To Be Shown Off Soon?

Hey, what's with retailers getting sneak peeks at big games before journalists? What the hell do the retailers care, anyway?

Okay, sorry, just some sour grapes there. After all, the dude is the CEO. According to GameStop boss Paul Raines' Twitter page, he was given an early look at EA's upcoming shooter, Battlefield 4.

And obviously, he was impressed:

"Got to see Battlefield 4 today and all I can say is WOW! Thanks @EA for the sneak peek. Can’t wait for you all to see it."

EA made it clear in January that Battlefield 4 would be making the Internet rounds within the next three months, so the official unveiling shouldn't be too far off. Furthermore, remember that all those who purchased last year's Medal of Honor: Warfighter are automatically guaranteed a spot in the beta test. Although Warfighter hit the skids in the eyes of critics (and consequently fell well shy of sales expectations), there's little doubt that Battlefield 4 will be successful. It's EA's biggest shooter by far and the only one that could legitimately challenge Activision's Call of Duty.

And when I say "legitimately challenge," I'm only referring to quality, of course. No chance anything - outside of Grand Theft Auto V - can challenge any new CoD in terms of sales.

Guess I should get a spot in the beta then, I haven't even played BF3.

While I get what you are saying ... many, many games can challenge CoD in terms of quality. That being said, I'm not a big FPS fan(unless the game has very good writing, and we all know how often that happens), so in all likelihood my judgment is biased. As for the next Battlefield, if they make a really good campaign, I might even get it.

Yes, I know, but I was referring only to EA's shooters.

I'm not a big fan, they are a lot of rinse and repeat but CoD does seem to have the formula down pat where others kinda struggle. Why they struggle I don't know, it's about the easiest thing in gaming.

They have done that a few times. I know when battlefield 3, actually rumors of it, was coming out my brothers boss who works at GameStop were invited to an event for it.

EA can be pretty annoying sometimes - like releasing Premium and not discounting it for those who already bought map packs - you could have bought all the packs so far - and they still want full price for premium - for weapon camos and new tags - **** off

As much as i enjoy BF - I just wish they would give more control layout options - every other shooter out there has grenade on the right button and crouch on B - I personally find it very frustrating switching between games and hitting the wrong buttons - find myself playing bf3 more on the PC where i can customize my controls

My question exactly. Bad Company 2 is much better than bf3 in my opinion. But i also think bf3 sold more than bf2: bad company. So EA being EA their going with the larger money grubber.
