God Of War: Ascension Single-Player Demo Available Today
One of the most anticipated games of 2013 is almost upon us. But "almost" isn't enough for the hardcore fans. They wanna play it now.
So be it. Hit up the PlayStation Store today to download the free single-player demo of God of War: Ascension; it's now available to all PS3 users. In the sample, you will have to escape the epic Prison of the Damned and at the same time, you can experience the adventure's new advanced combat.
As detailed over at the PlayStation Blog, the features that await us in Ascension consist of making a stand against a "Titanic beast and its infected legions," unleashing your burning Rage in fiery explosions, impaling enemies on your chained blades and using those hapless foes as wrecking balls, etc. Sounds like a blast. And when you're done, you can check out the new entry in the "Unchained" video series.
Also, don't forget about the legendary multiplayer DLC weapon the developers created in partnership with the History Channel (and their new "Vikings" mini-series). The Hammer of Thor will be available exclusively to those who pre-order God of War: Ascension at Best Buy. Pre-ordering at GameStop nets you a different bonus.
March 12 isn't far off!

I canceled my pre-order for GoW: Ascension because Sony Santa Monica pulled a bait-and-switch on the collector's edition statue of Kratos.
It was supposed to be an 8" tall statue that looked pretty cool and looked very well made, but then here recently Sony Santa Monica very quietly swapped it out for a much lower quality looking 6" tall statue.
I would have kept the pre-order, but between the multiplayer that I haven't really gotten into during the beta, and the sneaky and dishonest business practice Sony Santa Monica seems to be up to, I'll just wait for a while to get this game.
