THQ Seeks To Unload Remainder Of Intellectual Properties
THQ is basically gone, as they've already sold off a number of their assets and properties. The rest will be sold soon and THQ will officially be no more. So sad.
The former publisher has announced that it will sell what's left of its intellectual properties in a court-supervised sale, to be finalized soon.
They're looking to take bids on some of their most popular IPs, including Darksiders, Red Faction, Homeworld and MX, along with licensed software like Marvel Super Hero Squad, Supreme Commander, Worms and others. THQ expects to complete the bidding and sale process for everything by the middle of May. Initial bids must be in by April 1, 2013 and final bids must be in place by April 15. THQ claims to have seen over 100 expressions of interest for various titles already, and that number may continue to grow.
They've managed to sell three studios (THQ Montreal, Volition, Inc. and Relic Entertainment) along with a few games (Homefront 2, Metro: Last Light, South Park: The Stick of Truth). But hey, we wanna see more Darksiders and - if it's done correctly - more Red Faction.

BUT! the one game I want someone to pick up more than anything, is Homeworld. Those games were amazing, and I really hope someone picks it up and does something great with it.

hope someone buys that, i absolutely loved deblob 2!
nothing out there puts a bigger smile on your face, it was just so charming and witty!
i hope someone buys red faction and darksiders as well, both too good a franchise to let go.
red faction is easy, give us another guerrilla styled game and watch it fly off the shelves!
id love to see them do back to the armageddon style as well, turn it into a aliens styled game, deep dark survival horror!
but that wouldent be wise till they release a "safe" game in the franchise first, and a sequel to guerrilla aint going to get much safer!
as for darksiders its a little trickier, but please for the love of god give us war back!
i loved the RPG system they added to the sequel, but everything else just feels so mundane and boring!
especially the puzzles, and especially after the brain benders the original served up!
ill never forget the elevator puzzle, using the portal gun to shift the weights around to get the elevator up the shaft.
best puzzle put into a game for a long, long time!
oh vergil, how i miss thee...........
