TMNT Returns This Summer In A Fresh Downloadable Adventure

To this day, I have no idea what sort of drug cocktail was required to conceive of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

But hey, it worked, and the Turtles are still popular. In fact, Activision plans to publish the first of a new trilogy this summer; it's coming to the PlayStation Metwork, Xbox Live Arcade and PC and it's called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

This is inspired by the current Nickelodeon animated series and is a third-person brawler with "hyper-realistic 3D style" and "true-to-life" landscapes. The combo-driven battle system should also be intriguing, 'cuz we can learn all sorts of awesome moves with Donatello, Leonardo, Raphael and Michelangelo. Red Fly Studio is handling the game's development; they previously produced Thor: God of Thunder and the Wii ports of Ghostbusters: The Video Game and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. Okay, nothing too stellar but still...

Lastly, here's the debut trailer, courtesy of DigitalSpy. Like it?

Thank you, Activision! Yes, I can't believe I said that either.

Looks kinda neat. I always liked Raph, he was an emo loner with unique weapons. Did the movie reboot die?

World, I agree with you on that. Even tho I'll still be buying for two tickets to see it. My nephew is a huge fan of the new cartoon. Which I must say ain't half bad. The original cartoon is still a classic in my eyes.

What you think they were going to do with a reboot? The new cartoon got a following. They are not going to turn away all those new kids from the new stuff.

Platinum games should make the next TMNT game when activision's contract expires. All the bosses in MGSR have similarities with the turtles in combat .

Loved TMNT as a kid..This is a must buy now as I watch it every weekend with my son. Perfect game to break him in properly to beat'em up brawlers.

Sweet! I can never get enough of my childhood heroes (in a half-shell)

My kids are big into the new ninja turtles series now, and I couldn't be happier about it.
