Is David Hayter Not Reprising His Role As Snake In Ground Zeroes?
Well, this is somewhat alarming.
David Hayter is the voice of Solid Snake and has been for some time. His voice has become synonymous with the iconic character, so to have someone else voicing Snake might be tough for the hardcore fans to handle.
Is Kojima and Co. courting another voice actor for the role in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes? Or is Hayter simply considering passing on the project? He ran an informal poll via his Twitter page, asking gamers to respond to the following question- "How would you react if I didn't play Snake in the next Metal Gear?" 303 people answered and nearly 1/4 of them (24%) said they absolutely wouldn't buy the game if Hayter didn't play Snake, and 64% said they'd be "Sad/Angry." Only 12% said "No Big Deal."
This poll indicates the possibility that the main man won't be back to play Snake. On the other hand, maybe no final decisions have been made, and this poll will have some impact. What do you think?

Just as in inFamous 2, many people will get all huffy about a change in actor; then, assuming that Kojima can find a suitable and capable replacement, the fans will realise that the game is great regardless of the iconic voice.
I'll miss the staple of Hayter's voice, but I'll be able to move on.

Die hard MGS fans will be upset because he's more than just a voice. Not only that but he knows how crucial he is to the games. What actor has ever been selfless enough to ask the fans how they would feel? Not many. Thats why he is important.

This poll by Hayter could be a preemptive move on Hayter's part to show Konami his value to the series. Like many have said above me hayter has been part of the MGS legacy since the start. I cringe when I think of another voice actor playing Snake, I have long fantasized about placing an order at Mcdonald's with Snake's voice. Yes, I know I am strange.

ill never be able to understand why people chucked such a hernia over silly little things like this!
just sat back and laughed my a$$ off when people reacted to cole, dante, sam fisher, ect, ect.
couldent believe my eyes the backlash ubisoft got when they announced michael wont be playing as sam, come on guys hes OLD!
old people kinda cant go around combat rolling like he needs to, well not without breaking a hip at least!
just put it this way, if a characters not being played by his usual voice actor is the biggest problem of your day, consider it a pretty f*cking good one!

People who compare this to Cole and the like are wrong. This is far different. Hayter's voice is used to tell SO much of the MGS story. Cole's voice and appearance a person can get used to. It was the second game in the series. We're talking 15 years of Metal Gear Solid saga.
