PSXE Poll Update: Gamers Split On New Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag has been revealed, and it has incited plenty of controversy.
While some seem to love the new look (especially when we're looking at a trailer that may be running on the PS4), others believe Ubisoft is definitely rushing the franchise for the sake of "annualization." And as it turns out, our latest poll proves there's a very even split among our readers.
We got nearly the exact same number of votes for "looks fantastic, can't wait to play it!" and "Ubisoft is definitely rushing this one," so that's pretty even. There's also not much of a middle ground as most have picked a camp; few are hemming and hawing over the situation. It'll be interesting to see how everyone responds when Black Flag launches on October 29. Maybe we'll all have better things to say when we see the next-gen version of the game. I mean, that trailer looked pretty damn fantastic. None of that was gameplay, though...
This week, we want to know if you intend to pick up God of War: Ascension. Historically, a new GoW entry meant an automatic buy for most PlayStation fans. But with some iffy reviews out there and people saying Sony Santa Monica simply used this new title as an excuse to implement multiplayer...well, interest appears to be waning. Has your interest waned?

The reviews are weird they all praise the game but its like one hiccup makes it a failure for the franchise. Its almost like people want it to fail merely because mp was included. It actually seems like the mp is whats draggin the scores down. But I guess we will see Tuesday.
As for AC4, im liking what im hearing and seeing.

As for GoW, it just never clicked with me. I only played the first one, but was not impressed enough to play the second. I just don't dig on Greek mythology, I guess.

looks like AC3 but with the naval side expanded allot due to the pirate theme!
eh, whatever ubi killed all my love and passion for the series with AC3, so they can do whatever they want with this.
the last AC title ever released was revelations as
far as im concerned!
as for ascension, i wont be getting it on release because im on holidays but once im back ill do so.
its a bit disappointing hearing that this is a bit toned back on the epic set pieces, there what made the series!
thats really the only complaint ive heard about it, oh yea theres the stupid trophy name but thats not going to spoil my enjoyment of a game.
i just hope this has as memorable moments as GOW3 had!
i really did not enjoy GOW3 because it forsook what made the series great, puzzles, story, and gameplay.
thats back now which is why im so excited for ascension.
but at least GOW3 had some real memorable moments.
the helious head rip, the troll eye rip, the final battle, flying up the tower with the wings, every boss battle was fun and really memorable!
may not of been a good game, may not of been a GOW game, but at least it had some real memorable boss battles!
and thats one thing that worries me with ascension.
as allot of reviewers have said, GOW3 starts with a BOOM!
the start of ascension is, well, lets just say a whimper.
so its lost the big epic set pieces and memorable boss battles.
come to think of it, this is KZ3 all over again!
KZ2 added some things i really liked, but removed allot of franchise staples.
so the devs put them back for the sequel, but removed again what was added and liked.
why do developers keep doing this?
if you add something to a franchise and people like it why remove it?
GOW3 removed the puzzles, the smooth gameplay, the brutal difficulty and death traps, the story.
but at least it really ramped up on the epic set pieces and memorable boss battles!
then in comes ascension, replaces everything 3 forgot, but then removes the 1 thing it brought.
why?
sequels are suppose to be carry over everything people liked, improve what they dident, and if you cant remove it along with the stuff people did not like.
not carry over half of the stuff people liked, remove the other half, and carry over the stuff people did not like.
why are developers so god dam hell bent on removing something that made the franchise great?
they did it with 3, then replaced them for ascension, great, but then removed something that 3 made so great.
why?
why cant we have everything?

As far as GoWA D1, I would like to. However, all my money is in my PSN wallet and I just found out that GoWA will not be D1D :(. So I am probably going to throw that money at Bioshock Infinite and buy GoWA in April when funds will be more plentiful. Who knows maybe Sony will pull a stunt like they did with Tomb Raider and make GoWA D1D as a surprise! One can only hope.

I think what should have been done is end AC and ignite a new series that is just about Pirates, War at Sea", a bit of voodoo mysticism and the Bermuda TRiangles. Come one you know that would be.... different.
AC series is old and I would rather they actually TRY something new and diff for next console.
Keep Playing!
