Just Cause Developer Not Working On A New Superman Game

If everyone remembers the debacle that was Superman on the N64, and realizes that we've never really had a stellar video game featuring the original Man of Steel, I bet a lot of people hoped the rumor was true.

Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios is supposedly working on multiple projects right now, and one of them is apparently a superhero-based title. For a while, many thought it was a new Superman game.

After Superannuation hinted at the rumor, Avalanche founder Christofer Sunderg took to Twitter to clear things up:

"Superman game? We do a lot of weird things but that's not one of them."

It was announced last year that Avalanche was working on a new open-world title (presumably the oft-teased Just Cause 3), a game based on a movie franchise, and another game based on a comic book. Some believe the one centering on a movie could be a "Mad Max" effort, but it appears the Superman idea is out. Well, at least we'll "fly" to some extent in Just Cause 3. Wacky grappling hook FTW!

Out of all the superheroes out there Superman deserves to have a great game or at least one that doesn't feel unfinished.

Just Cause 2 is one if my favourite games this gen. I have the Platinum and I still regularly go back and play it. Needless to say I'll be so excited when JC3 is officially unveiled. I hope it's a PS4 game.

Yeah, it would be of interest. One game featuring Superman that I really like though, is Justice League Heroes on the PS2/PSP/XBOX/DS/. I have the PS2 version.
