Road Rash Co-Designer Considers Kickstarting Franchise
Dude...Road Rash!
After a Reddit user wondered why the franchise hasn't returned, Road Rash co-designer Dan Geisler responded by saying that he was "burned out after Road Rash 3." However, time helps rejuvenate.
He added that he's "ready to do another one now," and said he would consider running a Kickstarter endeavor if there was enough interest. He also said he'd have to talk to EA to get the rights for the series, but if that doesn't work out, he might pursue a spiritual successor of sorts. The interesting part is that Geisler said the new effort would ideally be rendered in 3D but maintain the 2.5D physics of the original titles, because "reality tends to suck." Well, sure. You can't make a new Road Rash and have it feel like MotoGP. That would be wrong on a million different levels.
So will there be enough interest? Only veteran gamers have even heard of the franchise, so maybe not...
