Rumor: Battlefield 4 To Include The Long Lost Commander Mode
Here's a mode Battlefield aficionados want to see return: Commander Mode.
According to GameStop promotional material, the upcoming Battlefield 4 will indeed feature Commander Mode. It also says that the popular multiplayer mode will boast three different factions with which to experiment: The United States, China and Russia.
YouTube user "luger700" adds that the unofficial footage was captured from two separate GameStop stores, and one of the clerks said he had the information "direct from EA." For the record, the last time we saw Commander Mode was way back in 2006 in Battlefield 2142. The mode gave one member of the team the chance to order other players in a top-down view; this was not among the available modes in 2011's Battlefield 3. As for Battlefield 4, that's coming later this year to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. There's some speculation as to whether or not it'll also be available for any next-gen platforms.
So, who wants to see Commander Mode again? And do you think it'll be very different in BF4 if it is included?
