PlayStation 3 Sells One Million in PAL Regions
Speaking to MCV-UK, Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe boss David Reeves has announced that the Sony PlayStation 3 is in the hands of 1-million gamers across Europe and other PAL territories. The milestone was achieved in a mere 9 1/2 weeks since launching on March 23rd, which is faster than that of the PS2 and PSOne, and even the competition. This news further cements the notion that PAL territories still seem to belong to Sony.  “Early last week we went through the one million mark on PS3. And we did that in nine and a half weeks. That was faster than both PS2 and PSOne. And I think that the analysts out there will also realize that it’s faster than our brothers and sisters in the competitive world.”
With this news made official, rough estimates have the PlayStation 3 pinned at just over 3M consoles sold. The system seems to be selling briskly in Europe, but is hurting in Japan with sales of 40k a month, due to an absolute lack of software. It's North American sales have been ho-hum, averaging around the 100k mark monthly.6/8/2007 Arnold Katayev
