Sega Plans To Bring Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F To US, Europe

Let's face it, it's just one of those things...either you get it or you don't.

Sega has announced that Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F will be getting a North American and European launch this August. It will be available for the PlayStation 3 in physical format and digitally on the PSN. We can't be sure if the Vita iteration is coming to either region.

If you're not sure what this rhythm game is all about, you can try out the demo that shows up on June 11 in North America (the day after in Europe). While the franchise is awfully popular in Japan, this marks the first time a series entry has made its way to other territories. This one has 38 original songs, a video-editing option and a Diva House where players can interact with vocaloids. There are also 90 costumes to try and over 100 accessories. I don't really know why Sega decided to localize this particular title, but maybe it'll do well.

Project Diva F could end up being your guilty pleasure for the summer.

I've always liked rhythm games ever since I first got introduced to Bust a Groove back on the PS1. Don't ask me why. Something about them just strikes some kind of chord for me.

Anyway, as I understand it Sega has actually been looking into and researching the possibility of localizing Miku for some time. And believe it or not the franchise actually does have a following in the states. I don't know how big it is but it's there.

I think the game will do reasonably well. Heck, the video editing feature alone is probably going to be a major selling point for some people. As for me, I'll be buying the game for the aforementioned reason up at the top.

Already trying out the Japanese demo, while this is no Guitar Hero or Rock Band, Hatsune Miku is fun as well.
Not to mention the awesome original songs it has.

Ok, Hatsune Miku international release CLEAR!!
Next I'll be waiting for the Macross games to make it out of Japan........

As much as I'd love that, aren't there fuzzy legal headaches surrounding that series?

It doesn't sound like my kind of game but I'd love to see more Japanese games made available over here. Operation Rainfall proved that even titles that might lack mainstream appeal have a ready audience and who knows, there might be a breakout hit amongst them.
