New Ace Combat On The Way, Exclusive To PlayStation 3

If you're looking for some invigorating fresh flight goodness, Project Aces is happy to deliver a new Ace Combat.

Namco Bandai has officially revealed Ace Combat Infinity, which is currently in development for the PlayStation 3. No other platforms were mentioned, which makes this new entry in the critically acclaimed franchise an exclusive.

And that's interesting, because Ace Combat has kinda bounced back and forth over the years. It was once exclusive to PlayStation several generations ago, then it went multiplatform. In fact, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation switched sides completely, as it was actually exclusive to the Xbox 360. The last entry, 2011's Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, was multiplatform. But now, Namco and Project Aces are once again siding with the PS3.

As for the new game in question, we don't know much about it. We get a vague tagline- "That day our sky fell, the heavens split to create new skies," and a teaser trailer that doesn't really show any gameplay. Keep checking the website for more info.

Not forgiven Namco, make Tekken Seven an exclusive and I'll consider it...

Nice, I like the Ace combat series, and my guess is that this, being exclusive, will be astonishing.

As much as I have complained about Ace Combat over the past few days on this site, this announcement has made me happy, albeit a bit surprised.

I am happy because Project Aces is coming back to the PlayStation family where they belong and hopefully they leave the "COD" out of it. I am also pleased that it is being released on September 25th which is near my birthday.

Now while the video clip shows the United States, it seems to have some "strange world" feel to it with some Stonehenge looking device in it similar to AC04. It also seems that Project Aces is back to it's love affair with Russian aircraft, namely the new PAK FA.

I am perplexed however to as why this game is a PS3 only title. Especially since the PS4 is very near the date of this games release. No biggie though, because this article has made me a happy man!

I have not played an Ace Combat game in awhile since Shattered Skies, looking forward to seeing how this is. :D

Bingo!
I was wondering when they were going to make another one exclusively for 'the PlayStation 3 system'

No more stupid staged chase's and call of duty crap. I want big air fortresses and lasers shooting at me and legends of demons in the air.

Heard this was another F2P title so I don't know...I'll stick with Fires of Liberation and Innocent Aces.

I have not played AC since ZERO... I think... Which ever the last one was for PS2. I tried the demo for Assault Horizon but did not like the controls.

All smiles here :) No idea why it's PS3 only, would have expected a multi-plat release, and maybe also a next-gen version, but either way I'm happy :).

As much as I loved the exclusive announcement, this worries me a little bit. Maybe it's just me, but maybe the fallout from M$' BS marketing campaign and anti-consumer policies might be causing a few devs to start moving back to the PS3 in support of Sony and boycott of Microsoft. Maybe i'm just analyzing too deeply. Please note, I'm excited, but perhaps we're starting to see devs boycotting Microsoft.

Strange that it's PS3 and not PS4 exclusive... I've always enjoyed the Ace Combat franchise so this should be interesting.
