Project Diva F Will Launch On August 27 In North America

First time for everything.

Sega has announced on its Facebook page that the music/rhythm game, Project Diva F, will release in North America on August 27. It will be available in both digital and physical format for the PS3. We still don't know if Sega will deliver a Vita version.

The pre-order bonuses at GameStop include a cross media bar theme and an in-game 2013 snow costume for the game's protagonist, Hatsune Miku. As for our European friends, we know the title will release in August via the PSN only, but we don't have an exact date. For the record, Project Diva F is the first in the popular Japanese series to be released outside of Japan. We'll get 38 original songs, a video-edition option and a Diva House feature, too, so fans should be satisfied, don't you think?

Personally, I have no idea what this is, but I'm not exactly up on all the popular Japanese culture stuff. Here's hoping it does well in outside territories, 'cuz I imagine there are fans everywhere.

I shall edumacate you, not that you care, but I shall anyway.

This character is an animated pop idol. She and others like her are a fusion of animation music and singing into a fictional pop star. It's sort of similar to how Miley Cyrus used to perform as Hannah Montana instead of herself, only the character is animated.

Instead of one singer getting filthy rich, the use of the character allows for a lot of cottage industries to pop up around her (like a rhythm game) so even more people can get rich and as a fake person she never tires from performing.

I tried the demo but I don't have the reaction time to play it. I'm old.

I know what you mean, I didn't honestly expect this game to be difficult at all, let alone kick my ass as hard as the demo did.

Well problem was there was no tutorial lol.

At first I got my ass whooped because I didn't know stars = joystick and I thought arrows were just directions. After a few tries I got it down but I also had to adjust the games response to my tv screen to have the buttons land correctly in the center...

All in all it's realllyyy fun though :D was a good challenge at first to get used to all those different directions stuff comes from. Can't wait to see the full game with maximum stars difficulty songs LOL i bet it will be on a lvl we can't even see our fingers move on the remote! Like a blurrrrr

re: learn to speak Japanese

Always a worthwhile endeavor, but if you're doing it to learn what she's singing, DON'T. I learned nearly 20 years ago that the english meaning of JPN lyrics, no matter what the song, are nonsensical garbage. You're better off not WTF she's singing about.

I got this for the Vita the last time I visited Japan. I gotta say, it's an extremely fun rhythm game! I'm man enough to admit that I will definitely pick this up on PS3 when its released here in the US. :)

I wish they'd chosen the vita version instead. I like vocaloids, and I'm pretty shameless about my taste for japanese entertainment, but it still feels weird to have catchy j-pop blasting out of my room.

I already have it pre-ordered! At an indie shop. That snow costume is tempting, but I haven't bought anything in GameStop for years, and I'm not about to break my combo meter over a $0.99 DLC, or whatever it will be.

This is exactly the kind of game that gets me to spend money, for hard copy disc-based games. Not PSN releases. Not blood explosion swearing simulators. Give me peppy Japanese happiness, any day.
