Dark Souls II Lands North American Date

It's the sequel that hardcore role-playing fans most want. Or at least, a certain type of hardcore RPG fan.

During their pre-TGS conference, publisher Namco Bandai confirmed that Dark Souls II will release in North America for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 11. There was no date given for the PC version.

They also revealed a special Collector's Edition, which will feature the official soundtrack, an art book, a 12" figurine, and a cloth map. If you've forgotten, the beta test for this anticipated sequel kicks off for PS3 users on October 12; if you're in North America, Europe, or Australasia, feel free to take part. There's no doubt that Dark Souls II will present you with a significant challenge, despite initial claims from the developers that said the game would be a bit more "accessible." Well, yeah, but it'll still be one of the toughest adventures out there, right? No easy rides, that's for sure.

Hope you've got the gumption for this one.

Sad to say I haven't finished Dark Souls. Didn't grab me like Demon's Souls. Not sure about DS2.

I enjoyed the fresh demonical world, skill system, and difficulty of Demon Souls. I was amazed by the interconnected dreary alien world Dark Souls offered and the diversity of the enemies compared to the first game, but man was it confusing compared to the first game which now feels linear.

Dark Souls really embodied trial and error gameplay which is annoying in this day and age compared to the first, but I do appreciate it. Nonetheless, by the time I finished Dark Souls, I both loved and hated it.

Will I pick up Dark Souls 2?....I don't know. Depends on if I feel like being both stressed out/amazed again at the same time. ;)
