Lightning Returns Opening Cinematic: The World's Last Chance

If you're one of those people who count opening cinematic sequences as spoiler content, look away now.

If not, check out the very pretty introductory cinematic for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. The protagonist is back and stronger than ever; this time around, she's essentially supernatural. A goddess, really.

Featuring a more action-oriented interface with a more dynamic gameplay style (such as minor platforming elements), the end of the current Final Fantasy trilogy is plenty flashy. The world is going to end in 13 days unless Lightning does something about it, and players will have to race the clock in addition to taking down countless enemies. Familiar faces from previous titles will also make an appearance, as we've seen in other videos.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII releases in North America for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 11, and three days later in Europe.

It's true what you said... basically a goddess. She has nothing on Squall or anyone in FF8 for that matter.

I do consider it spoiler so I won't watch it, because yeah I'm gonna find out how this thing ends.

I'm also going to try to back off on my anger at SE. The real Final Fantasy is dead, Squaresoft gave me a great childhood and teenagerhood and young adulthood so I'm thankful I had that.

The first stage of grief is anger, I'm going to try to move onto the later stages and maybe enjoy some of these games in the same way I enjoy other mediocre productions from time to time.

I don't see much that's spoiler about it. just the same derivative plot crap we're used to, now with extra helpings of Lightning being the savior of souls and happiness of the universe.

It isn't really about having a plot point spoiled, I just don't like to see much of my games before I play them ya know?

Lightning will be the manliest goddess and savior of happiness ever.

I'm looking forward to that review, Ben has proven that while he's an old school fan he's also more than capable of admitting when something is good even if it ain't right.

Finally , the badass Snow was always meant to be!

@world, I concur. I'm also past the stage of anger. I dissected the first 2 games . Just gonna see how this thing ends and move on.
