Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX Revealed, Releases In 2014

Kingdom Hearts fans are getting more love thrown their way.

As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will launch exclusively for the PlayStation 3 in 2014. Yes, it's the follow-up to the 1.5 ReMIX and it will feature the following:

  • Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix — previously on PS2 and exclusive to Japan
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix — previously on PSP and exclusive to Japan
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD remastered cinematics)

They also make mention of a "super rare, limited edition" of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX that includes a nifty art book; the trick will be finding it. The game is available for purchase right now, at any rate, and it'll be the perfect lead-in to the 2.5 ReMIX. If you're a KH follower, you should certainly appreciate these high-def overhauls; makes you wonder what else Square Enix might deliver with a new HD gloss...

So there will be no PS3 release for Dream Drop Distance? This really annoys me as In all honesty this REmix collection is really nothing more than S-E covering their tracks after releasing the series on every console possible. I dont want to have to buy a 3DS now to catch up with series even more, which was the point of this release.... I dont know...

I would say that the only way they could do that now is by making it a stand alone HD remake for PS3.

Unless they included it with KH3?

The battle with Vanitas was hard but so much fun. Looking forward to play this again in a big screen and in HD.

this is awesome news, but these guys are total BS. they said they will observe to see if Kingdom hears 1.5 will do well to decide if they will release the sequel. All of a sudden they have been deep into development already.

1.5 was out in March in japan, the ending already had cinematic of 2.5, so dunno, they definitely already had every intention of making the game.

Still need to get the first one, but this is on my radar. I played a bit of KH2 in days past and liked it.

Sweet! As much as I loved the 1.5 HD Remix, KH 2.5 is the one I was really looking forward to :)

Guess Nintendo wouldn't give up their rights or whatever over DDD. Shame, I really did want to try it out but have no desire to buy a handheld Wii u.

Wow. That reminds me. That I didn't get my art book from when I pre-ordered KH1.5, sigh.

It was part of the limited edition, the game case and art book are one in the same, so you can't really 'not get it', unless you didn't order that version.

WOooooooooooooooooooo. This is awesome news.

Although, interesting. They say it is a "super rare limited edition" if 1.5.

I got the art book with my preorder of 1.5 hd remix. The art book is really cool, the game case and art book are one in the same, so the disc is sort of in the back of the book, really cool design. It also has the original design of Sora, he looked heaps different.

Didn't think it was super rare though, it was freely available from EB Games.

End of PS3 cycle dream come true. Too bad no DDD but Nintendo probably has a big clutch on that + 3DS transitioning control problems.

yeah well it seems like they are just trying to keep them selves (S-E) going till their next gen games come.
