The Last Of Us First DLC Out Today, Update 1.05 Detailed

One of the best games of the generation just got better.

As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog has released the first downloadable content expansion for The Last Of Us, along with an important patch.

The first DLC is the Abandoned Territories Map Pack and you can grab it for $9.99 if you're not a Season Pass owner. If you are, and you paid the $19.99 for the Pass, this DLC will be free. Remember that Season Pass will only be available for a limited time so grab it if you haven't already. And if you want a peek at the add-on content before downloading, tune in on Twitch.tv for a livestream event that takes place today at 4 p.m. PST.

They've also patched the game, which has definitely improved the multiplayer. Update 1.05 will be rolling out globally over the next 24 hours and if you're interested, check out all the fixes through the Blog link above. Abandoned Territories will give you new areas to explore and conquer, so tell your friends to get ready!

I'm interested in knowing about the DLC single player componenet and what it offers. Price too. Since I am not in to MP aspects of games that much, are the Seasons Passes really aimed at the those people that have to have everything for the game? For instance if the Pass is $19.99 and the single player dlc is only say $14.99 when it comes out.

This conundrum is why I stay away from Season Passes. That does not take in to account being a Plus member, down the road I may get a discount as well.

Keep playing.

Sounds to me like this game is doing dlc right. I'm never going to be ok with devs holding content back for additional money on release day, but adding content over time to keep a game fresh so people keep coming back is a lot different.

True enough. Thats another concern of mine. Held back content that was cut from the original release. There is no way of telling if any dev has done it or not.

I think in Naughty Dogs case, since they produce some amazing games, and have established themselves as appreciating their game fans... I think they have integrity and a dev to trust.

Of course for me it all comes down to what they are offering

Keep playing!

I wish they would tell us what would be included in the season pass. Is it just map packs? Does it include single player? Will there be some sort of survival wave mode?

They better tell me before they stop offering the season pass.

They have already mentioned it countless times. Two multiplayer map packs and one single player dlc story.

Do you have a link? I've look on the actual page and all it says is "Buy the SEASON PASS for The Last of Us™ and get 3 DLC Packs!"

I tried looking on the blog but even the offical sony rep to responds to comments on there said that he/she doesnt know.

Edit: finally found a comment that mentioned it. You would think this kind of information would be easy to find or even on the product description page.

I love MP games....there are plenty out there...but some games, IMHO, should not be MP and this is one of them...I want DLC and I don't mind paying more for additional SP expansion packs, but if it's focus is on MP, count me out, which is why I didn't buy the season pass. I loved this game, just wish they would forget trying to ake every single game MP.

I'm just interested in the single-player DLC. Naughty Dog tells great stories, and that is what I'm looking forward to.
