Gerard Butler, Vin Diesel To Land Leads In Kane & Lynch Movie?

Well, that might work.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, accomplished leading men Gerard Butler and Vin Diesel are currently in talks to star in the upcoming "Kane & Lynch" movie.

If agreements are reached, Butler will play Kane and Diesel would play Lynch. It was also revealed that "The Italian Job" director F. Gary Gray is on board for the project, which could be a good fit for both actors in question. Butler starred in Gray's "Law Abiding Citizen" and Diesel was the protagonist for the director's 2003 film, "A Man Apart." The "Kane & Lynch" movie has been talked about for a while; originally, Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx were being considered for the lead roles, and "Titanic" stunt coordinator Simon Crane was going to direct. Obviously, things have changed.

As for the writing, Skip Woods ("X-Men Origins: Wolverine," "The A-Team") and Kyle Ward ("Machete Kills") wrote the most recent version of the script. The last title in the game series, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, released back in 2010; if they ever do a sequel, it could easily star GTAV's Trevor. That's how insane those games are.

Willis and Foxx got smart eh? Actually Diesel and Butler should switch places to make those character work, Diesel can't play white trash insane, Butler could.

But really, this whole thing is a misadventure, it has no credibility as a game franchise so why would it be worth turning into a movie?

For God's sake all I want is "The Real RocknRolla" from Butler, somebody tell Guy Ritchie to get his head out of his ass and get to work.

Oh Crikey... The credits to those writers are not good. But then, I wouldn't expect much better. Can't say I'm a fan of either Butler or Diesel, but they're competent action actors, so it wouldn't be a complete trainwreck. Still, why are they making this? It's not as though there are many people who know the games that well so...

The first line of the article summed up my opinion. This might be an instance where the film is better than the source; there was never a problem with the concept, just the execution.

figures, they wont give the game another try, but they will give the movie a guaranteed flop.
$E, save your money and put it towards making another K&L game but this time dont rush it and actually put some talent behind it.
