Report: LEGO Game Based On The Hobbit Coming In 2014

Nobody's surprised.

According to TheBrickFan, leaked promotional art tells us that a LEGO game based on J.R.R. Tolkien's famed "The Hobbit" will release in 2014 for all major platforms.

The promo material was found on the back of instruction booklets for the 2014 Hobbit LEGO sets, and it clearly pictures Bilbo, Thorin and Gandalf. We've already seen a LEGO Lord of the Rings, which was released last year, and with Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" film trilogy currently rolling out, another LEGO adventure makes perfect sense. These games are always great fun for kids and the entire family, as all installments are typically chock full of content and plenty accessible. Entertaining co-op, too!

Besides, who can resist LEGO characters? It's just not possible.

Is it based on the book or the movies, because the movies have very little to do with the book.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't based off the movies. If they tie this release with the part of The Hobbit this could be worth while. However, if they release this in the summer of 2014 and don't included the content for the last part it will be a waste of time - The film is already fa to stretched out for its own good, should never have been 3 movies. I doubt I will see the other 2 in cinemas myself.

Yeah, I'm betting they're movie based and will probably pull some 3 part game series out of it, why not milk it?
The movie guys are already taking a short book and stretching it into some ridiculous epic, might as well jump on the money train.

Well I hope it's all combined and part as the same game like LEGO The Lord of the Rings (Trilogy) and not separated. So if they released this at the same time as the third portion of this saga or shortly thereafter I think that would be good timing. Even if it were released just a little before the 3rd part I wouldn't mind either.

A LEGO game I, along with a friend and I think my nephews would be interested in is a TMNT LEGO title, with the new TMNT characters and models that have already been introduced, as well as some retro characters as well as some retro models of the newer ones like the 90's series, the movies and comics too. You know?

Ooh another franchise for LEGO to adapt is one I just thought of that might be appealing... Transformers! Since LEGO Marvel introduced the large figs in game form, it would be cool to have as many transformers as possible as well as the varying sizes and styles.... oooh and it would be awesome to have some different versions of as many as possible too. :)
