January's Free Games For Plus: Bioshock Infinite, DmC, Brothers

If you're looking to nab some truly great titles for free, you gotta check out the Instant Game Collection in January.

The IGC is where PlayStation Plus subscribers can download entire games for free, which is pretty sweet in and of itself. It's all the more attractive because many times, there are some seriously worthwhile games included. Check it out:

Thanks to a promotional video in the Plus area of the PlayStation Store (as cited by a user at NeoGAF and later confirmed by Dual Shockers), several top-tier games will be added to the Instant Game Collection next month.

For the Vita, there's Smart As... and Worms Battle Islands, and PS4 owners will get Don't Starve. But the PS3 gets the best stuff, as Bioshock Infinite, DmC: Devil May Cry and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons will soon be featured. As most of you know, Infinite was one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2013 and DmC also received quite a bit of praise. I hear Brothers is an excellent co-op adventure game with a lot of heart; maybe I'll finally get a chance to review it next month.

See? All kinds of good reasons to be a Plus member.

What is Don't Starve? And I hope the masses of asshats who ignored DmC can now play and understand that it is an amazing action game with some of the best combat of the generation. I might try Brothers.

Don't Starve is a survival game where you spawn in a random world and try to survive by hunting, crafting, and so forth. Really great game and has a bit of a Tim Burton look and feel to it. And multiple characters to unlock that each have their own special skills. Started playing it about a year ago, and haven't stopped as it is always adding new content.

PS+ is really something. People can complain about the games being 'old' all they want. A year or two is not old for busy/conservative people, especially when they're high quality, which is all that matters.

We don't get Bioshock or Brothers here. Instead it's Borderlands. The Vita side is Soul Sacrifice + Blazblue Continuum Shift.

Sometimes I just don't get the licensing.

PS+ is beyond a doubt the best thing in all of gaming. For $49.99 I must have downloaded $1000 worh o' free games in year 2013. You have to be a fool not to be a member by now.

I'm getting very tempted to sign up for Plus again. I see they've got Ico and Shadow of the Colossus along with Grid 2 right now, and Bioshock Infinite next month...that would pay for a year's subscription right there. Also like the online backup of game saves thing.

Should have bought it during Black Friday or Boxing Day. They are selling for 30 right now. Grid will be leaving this coming Tuesday.

This year of PS+ is starting off real well for me personally. I've played ample amounts of GRID 2 (still do). My wife and I enjoy SOnic All Stars Racing Transformed on the Vita. Now I get a shot at Bioshock Infinite.
Pretty dang sweet.
If anyone catches me moaning and groaning about ps+ for the next several months just slap me.
