South Park: The Stick Of Truth Censored In Most Territories
Remember the "Hot Coffee" ordeal? Well, that's precisely what the associate producer of the upcoming South Park game was trying to avoid.
Unfortunately for the European and Austalian regions, The Stick of Truth will be censored in those territories. This according to "walgiz," who took to Reddit to explain the situation (as summarized at Thirteen1).
The following scenes weren't just edited; they were completely removed:
- A mini-game in which the doctor is performing an abortion on the player.
- A mini-game in which the player is performing an abortion on the character Randy.
- Five anal probing scenes involving someone actively being probed. The scenes play out as normal before and after the active probing sequences.
Only the North And South American versions of the game are completely uncensored on every platform. In Europe and Russia, the console iterations are censored, in Germany, only the anal-probing scene is edited, and in Australia, it's censored on all platforms. Obviously, the "Hot Coffee" reference is from the hidden sex scene in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Every country has their own qualifications and reasons, I guess. Australia always seems to get the short end of the stick, though...pun intended.
