Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Confirmed, Will Launch This Fall
Well, there's good news and bad news.
The good news is that the rumor was true: 2K Games has officially announced Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, which is scheduled to launch this fall. The bad news? It's not coming to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
No next-gen consoles but hey, it's Borderlands. It'll definitely be worth playing, right? The game is set on Pandora's Moon and takes place between the events of Borderlands and Borderlands 2. A younger Handsome Jack guides you through the game, and you play as one of his four lieutenants: Athena The Gladiator, Wilhelm The Enforcer, Nisha The Lawbringer, or Claptrap. ...it'll be interesting to see how Claptrap controls and fights.
And of course, we've got the randomized loot that can result in a gazillion unique weapons. Then there's a new Cryo effect that lets you freeze your enemies in place, plus new laser weaponry that comes in various shapes and sizes. Oz Packs are another cool addition; they supply oxygen when roaming about the moon, and they also work as a jetpack. Why do I get the feeling that there might be a lot of bouncing going on, ala Halo?
The primary developer is actually 2K Australia; Gearbox Software is only assisting. As for why it's not coming to next-gen platforms; well, maybe it's just a spin-off. Anyway, here's the debut trailer:
