Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes Coming In September

Hey, if you've got kids, you know what to put on your Christmas list.

According to an official weekly webcast (as reported by Joystiq), we learn that Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes will be hitting store shelves in September.

Previous indications said the game would arrive some time during the fall, so September seems a little early (fall begins on September 21, remember). But it's close enough. And if the September window is accurate, it means the new Disney Infinity will be available before Activision's latest Skylanders offering, which is scheduled for October 5 in North America. These two are cooking up quite the rivalry.

As you can tell from the title, the Disney Infinity sequel boasts new characters from the superhero world, including Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor and more. We'll also get "expanded worlds" and a deeper Toy Box, and the good news is that all the characters, Toy Box saves and power discs from the first title will be compatible with the sequel.
