Teens React To NES: Time To Feel Very Old, Round 2

"Is this the PS2? That's as old as it gets for me." "Is this a projector?" "This is like something my dad used to play."

...feel old yet?

In the latest "Teens React..." YouTube installment by The Fine Bros, a bunch of teenagers are exposed to the good ol' Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). This is shortly after they gave kids a chance to check out the GameBoy, and the results are similarly amusing. The cool part is that these teens do give the NES an appropriate amount of respect, even if they've never encountered it before.

But man, "The Legend of Who?" That means you're not a gamer now, let alone in the '80s."

Man the NES was ugly. I'm happy I was fortunate to grow up with the ps1 and on.

I was on more on PC/C64 back in those days, and then went straight to megadrive, but there was a great cricket game I played with mates on the SNES. In defence of kids these days and 'Legend of who', with Ninty becoming more of a niche thing in gaming, it's less likely young 'uns now will have heard of it.

Well the whole NES thing is more of an American thing, here in the Western parts of the world. In the UK (and Europe) things went a bit different when it came to playing games. I mean, most of the kids in that video wouldn't even know what a C64 was (except for a couple of them).

And about Nintendo being niche? I dunno about that. If they handhed them a 3DS or even a DS instead of a NES, they would know what it was. Because of this game: POKEMON.

Games have come along ways though. Curious to how games would look in 20 years from now...if I'm still alive by then.

Wut? You don't expect to be alive in 20 years?

How old are you?

I'd like to see a reaction to an Atari 2600 or Intellivision.

"A gameboy"

I died a little inside.

Loved the blinking green screen though.

yes. that and how everyone died on that first Gumba. It was like deja-vu. It's funny watching those same trip-ups happen to a new generation of gamer.

It's funny that you can still find a working NES.

Some of my last gen systems are currently not working at ALL. And I had to replace them.
