Lohan Strengthens GTAV Lawsuit
Wow, Lohan must really need the money.
After Take-Two Interactive dismissed actress Lindsay Lohan's lawsuit against them as frivolous, Lohan filed a 67-page complaint against the company, describing why Take-Two benefited from using her likeness in Grand Theft Auto V (source: Hollywood Reporter).
Lohan believes Take-Two used her likeness to create the character of Lacey Jonas in the game, while the publisher says the only similarities are that both are young, blond women. Take-Two also accused Lohan of leveling the lawsuit for "publicity purposes." Now, Lohan's legal team has added dozens of images to its complaint, featuring real-world images they believe Rockstar used as reference points. They claim developer Rockstar wanted to "evoke the persona and image" of Lohan.
Furthermore, they say the image of Lacey Jonas was used in GTAV marketing material, such as billboards, posters, coffee mugs and t-shirts. Lohan claims GTAV doesn't represent "transformative" use of her likeness because Rockstar only cared about "financial gain." ...it's this latter point that makes me laugh. What's Lohan after? Justice? Gimme a break.
