Trine Series Passes 7 Million Worldwide

Everyone loves a good fantasy adventure mixed with some creative puzzle-solving.

Developer Frozenbyte has announced that its very well-received Trine series has passed 7 million sales worldwide. This includes Trine and Trine 2 and all platforms (PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, Mac, Linux and Android).

To celebrate, Frozenbyte has issued the level editor for Trine Enchanted Edition and Trine 2: Complete Story. This is only available on Steam but that's okay; just knowing that such great games have sold so well does a gamer's heart good. Said the developer in a press release:

"The editor for the Trine games gives users a first-hand look at the development process. Players can now do the same things to Trine or Trine 2 as the developers; they can edit existing maps to their liking, create entirely new ones from scratch, or even create a completely different game."

The first Trine was a breath of fresh air; a side-scrolling adventure game featuring three distinct characters, each with a specific combat and puzzle-solving skill. The sequel was even better as they refined and added. If you haven't tried either title just yet, you should. And don't forget that you can play 'em with a friend or two!

Trine 2 a crazy cheap on Steam this weekend. If you have the PS4 version you can also run it in 3D. When I get the time I would like to get back into it.

I got the ps4 version for the 3d, but it's one of only 2 games I have atm that I still haven't beat. I'm not that fond of puzzles. So once I got into the middle of it I was always looking up the walkthrough to see what I had to do.

picked up trine 2 ages ago when it was on plus, but still haven't played it. Will do at some point, when I get time - seems to be a consistent problem lately!
