Activision Ditches True Crime Trademark

Hope you're happy with Sleeping Dogs 'cuz it looks like True Crime is dead and buried.

Last generation, the open-world action/adventure True Crime was quite popular and for a while, we heard about a third installment for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

But it never happened; Activision canceled the project and later, Square Enix picked up the rights and transformed it into the ultimately successful Sleeping Dogs. Fans of the first True Crime games keep hoping for a true (pun intended) sequel but it probably won't happen: According to The Games Cabin, Activision has ditched the True Crime trademark.

Guess that means it's done. But really, do we need it? A follow-up to Sleeping Dogs will suffice, right?

Let's face it Activision wants to focus on COD franchise to rake up the money :P. Hopefully another publisher and team can revive the True Crime games.

Sleeping Dogs was mediocre as hell. Combat system was a decent mash up of the Arkham games and Dead to Rights: Retribution but everything else reeked. Square isn't going to put the cash behind it to take it to the next level and Activision only cares about mainstream bs. The series is dead on both fronts. Oh well, I'll always have the excellent True Crime: New York.

one down, hopefully this means they've lost interest in crash bandicoot and soon will relinquish the license to that too.
then ND will swoop in and announce their second studio is working on a reboot for that.
and to prepare the world for a reboot there revisiting the first 5 games and remastering them in HD!
kinda miss crash bash, yea it was a totally unrelated weird mini game completion but for some reason it was just a heck of a lot of fun!
same with CTR.
