Sony Stores In Canada Didn't Do So Hot, So They're Gone
Looks like Canadian consumers just didn't care enough about Sony stores.
As reported by CBC News, all 14 Sony stores in Canada will be closed within the next two months. The company will then redirect all of its business through its national network of Sony retailers, online stores, and the "Sony-trained Telesales team."
As the company said in a statement:
Our network of Sony authorized retailers offer a full range of Sony products and will be supported by our in-store Merchandisers and Product Trainers on an ongoing basis in order to ensure that our past customers have continued access to knowledgeable Sales consultants who can support their ongoing Sony electronics needs."
The news comes on the same day that Target announced it'll be closing all its stores in Canada as well. They claimed they were "unable to find a realistic scenario that would get Target Canada to profitability until at least 2021." Wow, guess nobody's really buying much up there. Either that, or they just don't like Target...and I can understand that.
As for the Sony stores, there are plenty of ways to get those products, right?
